AYRBURN CLASS CONCOURS CLASS, PRESENTED BY HARTFIELDS

The inaugural Ayrburn Classic Concours, presented by Hartfield Jewellers launches in 2027 as the festival’s premier vehicle category, showcasing 40 carefully curated automobiles from across New Zealand and beyond.

Displayed on Billy’s Lawn at the heart of the festival, vehicles will be judged on presentation, provenance, craftsmanship, rarity, and significance, competing for prestigious awards including Best in Show.

Inspired by the world’s great concours events, the Concours Class represents the next evolution of the Ayrburn Classic as it continues to establish itself as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading motoring festivals.

CONCOURS ENTRY & SELECTION PROCESS 

Entries for the 2027 Ayrburn Classic Concours are open until 31 October 2026.

To be eligible for consideration, vehicles must be 10 years or older at the time of the 2027 Ayrburn Classic.

All eligible vehicles entered during this period will be considered by the Ayrburn Classic Concours Committee, with the successful vehicles selected from the applicants and announced November 2026.  

Entry into the Concours is by application and selection only. Submitting an application does not guarantee a place within the prestigious Concours Class, presented by Hartfield.

Selection will take into consideration the vehicle's authenticity, condition, craftsmanship, cleanliness, and presentation.

• Near-perfect condition inside, outside, underneath, and in the engine bay.
• Factory-correct details, including parts, finishes, fasteners, decals, and materials.
• Meticulous cleanliness throughout, including areas rarely seen.
• Exceptional restoration or preservation, supported by quality workmanship.
• Precise attention to detail, down to wiring, hose clamps, labels, markings, and other small factory-specific features.

Our aim is to curate an exceptional and varied field representing outstanding examples of automotive history, design and craftsmanship.

VEHICLE AGE ELIGIBILITY

For the 2027 Concours Class, all vehicles must be at least 10 years old at the time of the event.

The age of a vehicle will be taken into consideration during judging, particularly when assessing originality, preservation and condition. A beautifully preserved original vehicle will not be expected to present in the same manner as a recently restored example.

PREMIUM DISPLAY

Vehicles that are not selected for the 2027 Concours will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Ayrburn Classic Premium Display.

The Premium Display forms a significant part of the wider Classic, showcasing an outstanding collection of vehicles throughout Ayrburn's terraces, ponds and gardens.

This ensures that exceptional vehicles that may not form part of the curated Concours Lawn, presented by Hartfield, can still be showcased and celebrated as part of the 2027 Ayrburn Classic.

Selection: Following the close of entries, announced in November 2026
Successful Applicants: Selected for the 2027 Concours Lawn, presented by Hartfield
Other Applicants: Allocated a display position within the Premium Display, across Ayrburn's gardens, ponds and terraces.
